Pro Wrestling

Live entertainment is always awesome, but when you’re living on a tight budget, it’s usually too expensive. When money is tight, watching TV is usually the cheaper solution to boredom. But, some forms of live entertainment are cheaper than others, and just as much fun, if not more!

Enter the cheap-plug for my own performances! Going to see an indy-pro-wrestling show is usually only around $10 per ticket! For around $10 you get all the thrill, spectacle, athleticism, and drama of professional wrestling! This is likely why pro wrestling has been a staple both live and on TV for lower-income families for decades in the US, as well as in Canada, Europe, Mexico, and Japan. But there is a lot more to these events than just men in tights fighting each other to entertain the audience. At it’s most basic it is a morality play, and at it’s most complex it is the combination of outlandish characters (heroes and villains), story lines, athleticism, costumes, stunts, music, and acrobatics! To get all of that in a live show you’d need to either combine a movie, a concert, a play, and a circus… or you can just check out you local independent wrestling promotion.

In the bay area there a number of indy wrestling companies… but for the sake of keeping this brief I will only advertise the company I wrestle for: Big Time Wrestling. My first match for them will be this Friday, 10/23/09 in Newark, CA. at the Newark Pavilion. (6430 Thornton Ave.) The doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. Big Time Wrestling has shows frequently throughout California, and surrounding states. For more information visit:

Here’s a TV Spot for one of Big Time Wrestling’s recent events… just a hint of what these shows have to offer!
